Economic instability in Malawi
Malawi's economy is highly uncertain. Their economy has been affected by high inflation and an unstable exchange rate, following a large currency devaluation in 2023. Pray for the Malawian government to make wise decisions and adopt sound policies that will help the economy recover quickly. Pray for Malawian people who are living in poverty, that they would be empowered to provide for themselves.
Drought in Zimbabwe
In Zimbabwe, drought is pushing people further into poverty. Many people rely on farming to live, but right now, crops are wilting and people are becoming food insecure. Pray that God would open up the heavens and bring nourishing rain. Pray for the economic situation to improve and for those in leadership to find lasting solutions. Pray that women and men would have the courage to speak up to the government and ask them to urgently address these issues.
Conflict in Burkina Faso
Armed groups in Burkina Faso have ravaged the country for years, killing almost 20,000 people and forcing over 2 million to flee their homes. At the moment, the number of people being displaced has slightly decreased, but there is still an urgent need for humanitarian assistance to support people who are affected. Women in particular are suffering daily abuses and living with trauma. Pray for the safety and protection of people and communities in Burkina Faso, especially for vulnerable women. Pray for God to comfort those who are grieving or traumatised and bring his sustaining peace to those who need it.
On Good Friday, Jesus cried, 'My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?’ (Matthew 27:46). In the darkest of moments, our faith can be tested. Over the Easter season, our global team share their reflections on how God has remained faithful. Over the next two weeks, pray for our humanitarian workers responding in challenging situations.

SCRIPTURE
Isaiah 53: 5-6
But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed. We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all
PRAYER
Thank you Father God, for the sacrifice of Your Son and the promise of eternal life. Christ alone is the way to salvation. Amen
